Hello everyone, I am a little bit confused about Shopify and WooCommerce. Actually, I am creating an online store which is based in the US. I found these two platforms which is good.
I have posted this in different groups and most of the people suggest me to choose WooCommerce. I have also seen a guide about WooCommerce vs Shopify comparison (https://www.cloudways.com/blog/woocommerce-vs-shopify/).
very strange comparison, Shopify is the e-commerce "for dummies", it has to be compared with BigCommerce, 3d-cart etc
WooCommerce is ecommerce CMS (Content Management system), you must have minimum knowledge of how to deploy the wordpress on the host, set up the website, install additional modules for it, some knowledge of SEO, design templates management, some other skills...
In this context WooCommerce has to be compared with OpenCart, PrestaShop, CS-Cart, Magento, VirtueMart, Zen-Cart etc
If your shop is anything other than very basic, with simple solutions for shipping, and your server is fairly solid then Woocommerce is fine to use. The problem comes when you need to modify it. There are plenty of additional Woocommerce plugins available but I find that this either over-complicates things, slows down the system and/or never does exactly what I'm after.
My recommendation is to go for OpenCart instead. It's a bit of a learning curve to begin with but the entire core is made specifically for e-commerce, rather than a plugin that sits on top of a blog-based website. Plus their support is so much better than Woocommerce, who tend to ignore most emails unless you have signed up to their support package.
