Overview
StockGuard for WooCommerce – Low Stock & Reorder Board
StockGuard for WooCommerce is an admin-only low stock and reorder board for WooCommerce stores.
It helps store owners, shop managers and purchasing staff quickly review products that need restocking, set reorder thresholds, add supplier notes, assign priorities and export the current low stock list to CSV.
This plugin is not a customer back-in-stock notification system.
It is not a purchase order system.
It is not a multi-warehouse inventory suite.
It is focused on one practical workflow: helping WooCommerce administrators manage low stock and reorder tasks from a clean internal board.
What StockGuard Does
StockGuard adds a dedicated WooCommerce admin screen where low stock and out-of-stock products can be reviewed in one place.
The Reorder Board shows useful purchasing information such as product name, variation, SKU, category, current stock, threshold, stock gap, priority, supplier note, reorder note and last stock change.
You can set item-specific thresholds for products and variations, define category-level thresholds, add internal notes and export the current board to CSV for purchasing work.
Threshold Logic
StockGuard uses a clear threshold priority system:
1. Product or variation-specific StockGuard threshold
2. Category-level StockGuard threshold
3. WooCommerce product low stock amount
4. WooCommerce global low stock threshold
5. Safe fallback default
This makes the plugin flexible without becoming complicated.
Internal Notes and Priorities
StockGuard lets administrators add supplier notes and reorder notes to products or variations.
Priority levels help teams focus on the most urgent stock issues first:
Low
Normal
High
Urgent
These notes and priorities are internal only and are never displayed to customers.
Stock Change Logs
StockGuard records stock changes in a dedicated database table.
The log includes product information, variation information, SKU, old stock, new stock, user, source and timestamp.
This helps store managers understand recent stock movements without adding a heavy inventory management system.
CSV Export
The current Reorder Board can be exported to CSV.
The export includes product IDs, variation IDs, product names, variation names, SKUs, categories, current stock, threshold, stock gap, priority, supplier notes, reorder notes, last stock change and edit URLs.
CSV output is designed for internal purchasing work, supplier communication and reorder review.
Admin Digest
StockGuard includes an optional daily admin digest.
The digest is disabled by default and can be enabled from the settings screen.
It sends a simple admin-only summary of low stock items to configured recipients.
What StockGuard Does Not Do
StockGuard does not create customer back-in-stock alerts.
StockGuard does not collect customer email addresses.
StockGuard does not create frontend forms.
StockGuard does not create automatic purchase orders.
StockGuard does not connect to supplier APIs.
StockGuard does not include AI demand forecasting.
StockGuard does not manage multiple warehouses.
StockGuard does not import CSV files.
StockGuard does not act as a bulk stock editor.
This focused scope keeps the plugin lightweight, practical and easier to maintain.
Quality Assurance
StockGuard was tested in a real WooCommerce environment with WP_DEBUG enabled.
Verified items include plugin activation, database table creation, stock log indexes, low stock board logic, variation products, threshold priority, filters, search, stock logging, input sanitization, CSV export and all admin tabs.
WordPress Plugin Check completed with 0 errors.
The plugin generated no StockGuard-related debug.log errors or warnings during real-machine testing.
Decimal WooCommerce stock values such as 2.000000 were also tested and verified.
