First, let's proceed with the following steps to open the template folder in our chosen code editor, which is VSCode:

1. Launch VSCode.
2. Click on the 'File' option in the top menu bar.
3. From the dropdown menu, choose 'Open Folder'.
4. Browser to the location where you download 'template' folder.
5. Select 'React-Next.js-template' folder.
6. Click on the 'Select Folder' button. 

Get started:

1. From the menu, use the Terminal > New Terminal
2. Run the following command: npm install
3. To build your application run: npm run build
4.  To start the Node.js server run: npm run start
