Guardian Commander: Sky Force is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up where players control a small airplane, battling waves of enemies. The plane automatically fires at enemies, and players can charge up a super weapon by holding their finger on the screen. Releasing the finger activates the weapon. Players collect stars by defeating enemies, which are used to upgrade the plane's health, armor, and weapons in the Hangar. The game features various enemies, including aircraft and ground installations, and boss battles at the end of some stages. The game has checkpoints, and if the player's plane is destroyed, the game ends, offering options to continue by spending in-game currency or watching ads.
