Installation
Copy the `costpro-product-cost-calculator` folder into `wp-content/plugins/` of your WordPress site.
In WordPress Admin, go to `Plugins` and activate “CostPro – Product Cost Calculator”.
Setup
Define your cost heads:
WooCommerce sites: `WooCommerce → CostPro Costs`
Non‑WooCommerce: `Settings → CostPro Costs`
Enter one cost head per line (e.g., Purchase Price, Packing, Transport, Advertisement).
For WooCommerce products:
Edit any product and use the meta box “CostPro: Product Costs & Profit”.
Enter amounts for each cost head.
Choose profit type (Amount or Percentage) and set the value.
Add any “Additional Costs” rows (label + amount) as needed.
On save, the plugin calculates the final cost and updates the product’s regular price.
For non‑WooCommerce usage:
Add the shortcode `[costpro_calculator]` to any page.
The calculator form will allow entering costs and profit margin and shows computed final cost and selling price.
Notes
Price updates currently target simple products. Extending to variable products can be added later.
All calculations are rounded to two decimals.
Security: Nonces and capability checks protect meta saves.
License: GPLv2 or later; no paid dependencies.
Uninstall / Deactivation
Deactivating the plugin leaves previously computed prices intact.
Removing the plugin does not delete stored options or product meta.
Usage Guide
Admin Settings
Navigate to `WooCommerce → CostPro Costs` (or `Settings → CostPro Costs` if WooCommerce is not active).
Enter one cost head per line; these appear in product edit and the `[costpro_calculator]`.
Product Edit Screen
Fields appear directly after the product description.
Fill built‑in heads and add any additional labeled costs.
Set profit type/value; computed totals update live.
Saving updates WooCommerce `_regular_price` and `_price` (simple products).
Shortcode
Place `[costpro_calculator]` on a page; it uses admin cost heads.
Enter costs and profit margin; the form shows Final Cost and Selling Price.
FAQ
The totals show 0.00 in admin.
Ensure the plugin is active and you’re on a product edit screen.
Check browser console for JS errors; jQuery must be available in admin.
Saving the product will still compute and update price even if live UI fails.
How do I add a new cost type like “Tax” or “Handling”?
Add it in `CostPro Costs` settings or use “Additional Costs” rows per product.
Does this work with variable products?
Current version targets simple products. Variation support can be added.
Does the plugin store or transmit personal data?
No. It stores product meta (costs and margin) only.
Troubleshooting
If prices don’t update: verify WooCommerce is active and the product type is Simple. Clear caches.
If settings don’t save: ensure user has `manage_options` capability.
Conflicts: Temporarily disable other pricing plugins to test.
