## Overview

WooCommerce Order Activity Log – Admin Audit Trail is a lightweight audit log plugin built specifically for WooCommerce order management.

It helps store owners and administrators see who changed what, when it happened, and what changed before and after the update.

This plugin focuses only on WooCommerce orders. It is not a full WordPress security monitor, login tracker, file monitor, or all-site activity logger.

## Logged Events

The plugin records the following WooCommerce order events:

- Status changed
- Order field changed
- Order meta changed
- Admin note added

The log includes:

- Order ID
- Event type
- Field key and label
- Old value
- New value
- User ID, login and display name
- Source
- Created date/time

## Order Edit Screen Log

A compact Activity Log panel is added to the WooCommerce order edit screen.

This lets administrators quickly review recent changes for the current order without leaving the order page.

## Global Log Viewer

The plugin also adds a global log viewer under:

WooCommerce > Order Activity Log

From there, administrators can search, filter and export logs.

## CSV Export

Filtered logs can be exported to CSV.

The CSV export includes safeguards for spreadsheet formula injection and uses a clean column structure suitable for store administration and audit review.

## HPOS Compatibility

The plugin is built for WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage compatibility.

It uses WooCommerce CRUD APIs for order data access and stores audit logs in its own lightweight custom table.

Legacy order storage / HPOS disabled mode should be verified separately when required for a specific store.

## Stability First

This product is intentionally focused.

It does not try to become a large all-purpose monitoring suite. The goal is to provide a reliable WooCommerce order audit trail without slowing down the store or adding unnecessary complexity.

## What This Plugin Does Not Do

This plugin does not include:

- Full WordPress activity monitoring
- Login or failed-login monitoring
- File change monitoring
- Security scoring
- IP or user-agent tracking
- Slack, Discord, Telegram or email notifications
- Webhook delivery
- External logging services
- Product, stock, coupon or full site auditing
- License server or telemetry

## Requirements

- WordPress 6.4 or higher
- WooCommerce 8.2 or higher
- PHP 7.4 or higher
- Administrator access with WooCommerce management capability

## Installation

1. Download the main ZIP file from Codester.
2. Extract it on your computer.
3. Open the extracted package and locate `order-activity-log-for-woocommerce.zip`.
4. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New.
5. Click Upload Plugin.
6. Upload `order-activity-log-for-woocommerce.zip`.
7. Activate the plugin.
8. Go to WooCommerce > Order Activity Log.

Important:

Do not upload the Codester main package directly to WordPress. The Codester main package includes documentation and support files. WordPress should receive only the plugin installation ZIP: `order-activity-log-for-woocommerce.zip`.

## Usage

After activation, the plugin automatically records supported WooCommerce order changes.

You can view logs in two places:

1. Inside each order edit screen
2. In WooCommerce > Order Activity Log

You can also export filtered logs to CSV from the global log screen.

## Settings

Available settings include:

- Log retention period
- Capture order meta changes
- Capture admin note excerpt
- Delete plugin data on uninstall

By default, plugin data is not deleted on uninstall unless enabled in the settings.
