There is no specific API. WHOIS information is fetched from the authority server of the corresponding TLD. If you search for a .ME domain, the application will look for the WHOIS information from the NIC server (network information system assigned for .ME extension) directly. If we used one API for the whole application and somehow the API went down, the application would be unusable. Instead, now each and every domain has different API for the operation.
Is there any third party API required for the script?
For WHOIS information:
No, absolutely not. The API is provided by the NIC server of the corresponding TLD.
For DNS information:
Yes, we use Google Public DNS API. You can also use PHP dns_get_record function, but some hosting servers have issue with the function. So we have used the Google API. But if you want to utilize the function, contact us and we will be glad to assist you on the matter.
Do I need to pay any charge for any API?
You buy the script and start using it right away. There is no monthly/yearly API charge or something like this. You don't need even need our own API. If Devslib closes all the operation in future, this will not affect your script in anyway!
Why doesn't this script support all the TLDs?
NIC servers of some TLDs and ccTLDs do not allow WHOIS query searching through API. It's not possible to get those domains WHOIS information not only for us, no one can get those domain WHOIS information. If you see "WHOIS information for this TLD is not available right now" error message, that means the NIC server is not providing the WHOIS information.
